MORE ABOUT CLAIRE

I'm a bit of a jack of all trades master of none. I grew up playing Netball, Basketball, Hockey and a bit of Volleyball and Tennis. I am the Director of Sport at school so fair to say I am very passionate about sport.

I had always wanted to complete a triathlon but just kept putting it off because I didn't know anyone who raced so the whole thing was a bit daunting.

In 2018 I decided that I would race the Barwon Heads triathlon so started training a bit then all my training buddies gave up on the challenge. This was when I joined Beckworth racing.

I completed Barwon heads and had fun then watched the rest of the Beckworth crew race Geelong 70.3 in 2019 this was when I decided I would aim to complete it in 2020.

I'm now aiming to complete the Port Mac full ironman in May 2021 (which is a super scary thought) and who knows what I'll do beyond that.

CLAIRE ON BECKWORTH RACING

I joined Beckworth racing towards the end of 2018 and I was a real rookie!! I rocked up to my first hour of power trainer session without a bike because I thought it was a spin class.

Being a beginner didn't matter though as everyone was very welcoming and willing to share advice. Since I started the club has grown so much but there is still a very inclusive feel and people all encourage one another regardless of experience.

Personally I like triathlon training as I can push yourself and see fitness gains that I didn't really see in team sports. Training is now just part of my lifestyle and it feels that sometimes I see my Beckworth mates more than I see my family.

I certainly wouldn't have participated in some of the races I have or achieved the results I have without joining the club. Thanks Adam, Peri, all the coaches & athletes for the fun!
