LIVES:

I first started thinking about doing a tri after a stress fracture put my cross country days behind me at the end of high school (2010), leaving me with six months to think about what to do next. I bought my first road bike, and started lap swimming alone, eventually entering a sprint tri that summer and enjoying it!

Like so many others, I then kept upping the ante, joining a club in Melbourne and completing a number of sprint and standard distance events, then building to my first half iron race in 2014 at Geelong, and an Ironman in 2016 and 2017. After the Ironman in 2017, I took a year and a half off from structured training as I was travelling and living in Sydney working full time. When I came down to Geelong as a change of career direction I wanted to get back into tri, so I joined Beckworth and haven't looked back since!

This year I've been training for Geelong 70.3, aiming to beat my PB and improve on my placing from years past.

THOUGHTS ON BECKWORTH RACING

I really enjoy the friendliness of the coach and other athletes, it's great to train with all of the people here!

Adam and the team do a really good job at including people from all levels of training, ensuring sessions are appropriate to your fitness but also encouraging everyone to train together and not always be separated into pace groups.

Running at the Aths track at Deakin and Cycling down the great ocean road have been real highlights over the past year, we are spoilt in Geelong for tri training!
