FEATURED ATHLETE PROFILE

LUDOVIC MALPEL

AGE GROUP SQUAD

NICKNAME:

Frenchy

LIVES:

Toulouse, France

Growning up in a family where sport is essential, I played soccer as goalkeeper until I turned 18. I was lucky to take part in Junior National Championships.

After this short "career", I took a break and competitions started to miss me.
Having swimming and cycling skills since I trained younger, Triathlon was a natural choice.

There I am. After few seasons in France, I travelled and ended up in Australia. I looked for a new team and I met Adam. I had a great feeling with this guy who raced in France (2004, 2005).

Then, he really changed my way of training using different methods that I used in France. At the beginning, I was lost and it took me months to trust his methods.

Finally, I enjoyed his way of coaching which is wider than giving training plans. He cares of almost everything, listening my doubts and needs, sharing his thoughts, giving keys and doing all he can to make me feel good in my weekly athlete routine.

Any future plans ? Same as always : smashing Nathan Taylor !

THOUGHTS ON BECKWORTH RACING

Since I joined in 2017, BRT is getting bigger. Hopefully, the soul of this squad remains unchanged. I think the Head Coach, Adam Beckworth, has made a lot to keep it intact.

While locked up, coaches did a great job to maintain our form. They organized many zoom sessions to make Aussie and International athletes working together. I liked it.

I'm missing so far group sessions along Barwon River and rides on the Great Ocean Road. I hope to be back soon to be flat out at Lorne Tri Camp and share coffees with mates at Lorne Larder.
