NICKNAME:

Skippy

LIVES:

Ballarat

Desperately needed a life changing challenge. When Ironman announced the race in Ballarat in 2014, I hadn’t competed in anything since 2005. I was 20kg over my competitive weight, had shoulder, knee and hip/groin issues that limited my training capacity in each of the 3 sports.

I entered the race anyway and finished up with a 4.45 first attempt. Future goals include finishing a full IRONMAN at some stage, life just won’t feel complete without making that dream happen.

THOUGHTS ON BECKWORTH RACING

As a remotely coached athlete, I always feel like I’m a part of the team through Facebook, messenger, Zwift and other mediums. The coaching team and BRT athletes have a diverse range of skills and experience in life and sport.

They are always happy to share these and support others. The value of being part of this type of community has never been more evident than it is now.
